Scope and publisher
This policy explains how CD Design (“CD Design,” “we,” “us”) handles information for CD Design Nozzle Tags, CD Open Ends, their licensing services and this website. It applies to the Windows plug-ins and related product pages. Autodesk Marketplace use is also subject to Autodesk’s own privacy terms.
Plant 3D project data
CD Design Nozzle Tags and CD Open Ends do not collect, upload or transmit Plant 3D drawings, project files, geometry, equipment data, nozzle data, pipeline-port data or model content. The plug-ins perform their work locally in the user’s Plant 3D session.
Information processed for trials and licenses
To provide and protect the 14-day trial and a purchased license, each plug-in sends the following information to the CD Design licensing service over HTTPS: a pseudonymous SHA-256 identifier derived from the Windows MachineGuid (or, if unavailable, the computer name), application ID and version, a short instance name, and trial, license-instance and activation/validation/deactivation status information. When a user activates, validates or deactivates a license, the license key and license-instance ID are also transmitted for that purpose.
CD Design stores trial dates, the pseudonymous device identifier, application-version information, license-instance ID, timestamps and a hash of the license key. CD Design does not store the raw license key in its database. The plug-in also stores encrypted/local trial and license state on the user’s workstation so it can operate normally.
Why we use this information
We use this limited information only to start and enforce the trial, activate, validate and deactivate licenses, bind a single-user license to the permitted device, prevent repeated-trial abuse and fraud, troubleshoot licensing problems, and protect the security and reliability of the service. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising or behavioural profiling.
Website comments and support
If a visitor submits a public product comment, we process the name, comment text, posting date and a salted SHA-256 hash of the visitor’s IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention. The name, comment and date may be displayed publicly on the relevant product page. The public comment form does not request an email address. Support is provided through the visitor’s email application; any information included in an email is used to respond to that request.
Service providers and payments
We use Cloudflare for website hosting, serverless licensing functions, database storage, security logging and, where configured, email notifications. We use Lemon Squeezy to process checkout, issue license keys and validate license instances. Lemon Squeezy, rather than the plug-in or CD Design website, processes payment-card information. We share only the information needed for these services, and require or select providers that are subject to applicable privacy and security obligations and protective terms consistent with the protections described in this policy.
Retention and deletion
We retain trial records for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the one-time trial and prevent repeated-trial abuse. We retain license-device bindings and related timestamps while a license is active and for the period reasonably necessary to enforce, reconcile or defend the license and prevent fraud. Public comments remain visible until removed or moderated. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, unless a longer period is required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Your choices and requests
You can revoke a license binding from within the plug-in using CDDEACTIVATE for Nozzle Tags or CDOPENENDDEACTIVATE for CD Open Ends. To request access, correction or deletion of information, or to withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis for processing, email [email protected] with “CD Design Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may need limited information to verify the request. Deleting or deactivating licensing information can prevent the plug-in from validating a trial or commercial license; we may retain a minimal pseudonymous record where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations or one-time-trial enforcement.
