What it does

Read Plant 3D Flow Arrow symbols and port topology, propagate flow direction upstream and downstream across tees and branches, and place 3D cylindrical flow bands at regular intervals.

Main commands

  • CDFLOWPropagate flow and generate 3D bands.
  • CDFLOWCHECKSelect pipes with unresolved flow.
  • CDFLOWCLEARRemove generated 3D flow markers.
  • CDFLOWSETTINGSSet marker spacing, insulation and colours.

Propagate

Mark once per line.

Place one standard Plant 3D Flow Arrow and let the solver trace connected pipes, reducers, valves and branch loops.

Review

Read flow in Navisworks.

Generate curved 3D ASME-style bands with arrows and FLOW lettering on the non-plotting CD-FLOW-ARROW layer.

Customize

Fit bare or insulated pipes.

Adjust marker spacing, place bands on outer insulation surfaces, and customize band and arrow colours.

Getting started

Ready for your workflow.

Open the CD Flow Arrows tab in Plant 3D after installation.

Requires at least one Plant 3D Flow Arrow (PLANTISOADDINFO) on a connected pipeline. Generated 3D bands are placed on the non-plotting CD-FLOW-ARROW layer for model coordination in Plant 3D and Navisworks.
